Sizing & Fitting
6 questions
Compression stockings are sized by measuring the circumference of your ankle, calf, knee, and thigh — and the length of your leg. Measurements should be taken in the morning before swelling develops, using a flexible medical measuring tape. Our Size Guide walks you through each measurement point. For the most accurate fit, we recommend a professional fitting with one of our certified specialists.
Tip: measure within the first hour of waking, before your limbs swell from daily activity.
If your measurements fall between standard sizes, our specialists will advise on the best fit. In many cases, a custom flat-knit garment made to your exact measurements is the right solution — particularly for Lymphedema, CCL 3, or complex body shapes. Custom garments are made by Juzo Germany to your precise specifications.

Wear loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the area being measured — shorts or loose trousers for leg fittings, short sleeves or sleeveless for arm sleeves. Avoid tight clothing that might affect measurement accuracy.
Compression Classes
5 questions
Most varicose vein conditions are treated with CCL 2 (23–32 mmHg). For mild symptoms or prevention, CCL 1 may be sufficient. For severe varicose veins with deep vein involvement, CCL 3 may be indicated.
CCL 1 (18–21 mmHg) — mild compression for prevention, travel, heavy legs, and early-stage conditions. Easiest to put on.
CCL 2 (23–32 mmHg) — moderate compression for active varicose veins, oedema, and post-surgical recovery. Noticeably firmer. The most commonly prescribed class.
For general travel and DVT prevention, CCL 1 (18–21 mmHg) is recommended. Passengers with existing venous conditions or a history of DVT should consult their doctor — CCL 2 may be more appropriate.
Browse our Travel & Flight Socks — available in CCL 1 for same-day dispatch.
Yes — CCL 3 and CCL 4 garments require a medical prescription. Our team works with your doctor’s referral and will confirm requirements during your fitting consultation.
Circular knit — seamless, stretchy, available in standard sizes. Ideal for CCL 1–2 and standard body shapes.
Flat knit — sewn from panels, custom-made to your exact measurements. Suitable for all compression classes, complex body areas, Lymphedema, burns, and scar therapy.

Garment Care
4 questions
Yes — machine washable at 40°C on a gentle cycle. Use a specialist compression detergent and a mesh laundry bag. Avoid fabric softener, tumble drying, and ironing — heat and chemicals degrade elastic fibres and reduce therapeutic compression.
A mesh laundry bag and specialist detergent can significantly extend the life of your garment.
Medical compression garments typically last 4–6 months with daily wear and correct washing. After this the elastic fibres lose their compression properties. We recommend replacing every 6 months or as advised by your specialist.
Turn the stocking inside out to the heel. Place your foot in and gradually pull the stocking up, smoothing out wrinkles as you go. Never pull from the top — this damages the fabric. Our Arion Easy-Slide systems and Special Grip Gloves make donning significantly easier, especially for higher compression classes.
Standard compression stockings should generally be removed at night. However, some conditions — particularly Lymphedema — may require specialist night garments. Juzo SleepCompress night garments are specifically designed for overnight compression therapy.
