When standard sizes don't work — and why that's most cases.
Lymphedema and lipoedema rarely affect a limb evenly. Tissue density, swelling distribution, body proportion, and skin sensitivity vary from one patient to the next. Off-the-shelf garments are built for averages — and averages don't exist in this condition. A custom Juzo Expert garment is measured at up to 14 points along your limb, then knitted to that exact map.
Pressure where it's needed
Standard stockings deliver pressure based on average circumferences. A custom garment maintains the precise pressure gradient your therapist prescribes — at every point on your leg or arm.
Comfort that doesn't compromise compression
Ill-fitting garments slip, roll, or dig in. Juzo Expert flat-knit is built with a flat elastic seam and soft surface, so you can wear it all day — and actually wear it, which is what makes therapy work.
Built for the body part that needs it
Custom doesn't mean just stockings. We make sleeves, gauntlets, gloves, thoracic garments, face masks, and stump shrinkers — for every body area lymphedema affects.
Designed for long-term wear
Custom Juzo garments are engineered for daily use over 6 months. The clinical standard replacement schedule is two pairs every 6 months — covered by most insurance plans via medical referral.
Lymphedema and lipoedema — different conditions, different garments.
They look similar. They're often confused. They require different therapeutic strategies. Understanding which you have — and at what stage — determines the garment that will work.
What is lymphedema?
Lymphedema is a chronic swelling caused by lymphatic fluid that the body cannot drain properly. It can be primary — present from birth due to a malformed lymphatic system — or secondary, developing after lymph node removal (often following cancer surgery), radiation, infection, or trauma.
Untreated, lymphedema progresses. Tissue becomes harder (fibrosis), the limb grows heavier, mobility decreases, and the risk of cellulitis and skin breakdown rises. Compression therapy — using a correctly fitted, prescribed-grade garment — is the cornerstone of management at every stage.
In the UAE, lymphedema is most commonly seen in patients following breast cancer treatment (arm and chest wall), gynaecological surgery (legs and pelvis), and in primary cases that present in adolescence or early adulthood.
How custom Juzo garments treat it
For lymphedema, we use the Juzo Expert flat-knit range. Flat-knit construction creates a stiff, inelastic fabric that delivers high working pressure when you move — exactly what's needed to push lymph fluid back into circulation — while maintaining low resting pressure for comfort.
The four stages of lymphedema
Latent stage. Lymphatic system is damaged but no visible swelling. Often present after surgery before symptoms appear.
Reversible. Soft, pitting swelling that reduces with elevation. Compression and decongestive therapy can fully control it.
Spontaneously irreversible. Tissue begins to harden (fibrosis). Elevation no longer reduces swelling — daily compression is essential.
Lymphostatic elephantiasis. Severe fibrotic changes, skin changes, marked limb enlargement. Strong-class custom compression required.
Six fabrics. One precisely matched to you.
All six are made-to-measure flat-knit garments built for lymphology. The difference is in the fabric — chosen based on your skin, the severity of your condition, and your lifestyle. Your fitter will recommend the right one during your consultation.

From referral to fitted garment — in four weeks or less.
The custom-made process is more involved than buying off-the-shelf — but the result is a garment that actually fits and actually works. Here's exactly how it goes.
Your physician or therapist prescribes compression.
The custom-made pathway begins with a medical prescription from your treating physician, lymphedema therapist, or vascular specialist. The prescription specifies the compression class (CCL) and the body area. For insurance coverage, the referral must originate from a medical facility.
We meet — at our Dubai clinic, your hospital, or your home.
A certified Juzo fitter takes your measurements at up to 14 points along the affected limb (or full body for thoracic/facial garments). The session takes 45–60 minutes. We discuss fabric choice (Expert / Silver / Cotton / Strong), colour, and functional options.
Your garment is knitted at Juzo's facility in Aichach.
Every custom garment is flat-knitted to your specific measurements using RAL-certified materials, ISO 13485 quality systems, and Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 fabric. Each garment is inspected before shipping.
Final fitting, donning training, and aftercare guidance.
When your garment arrives, we schedule a fitting session. We check the fit at every measurement point, train you on donning and doffing techniques (and recommend donning aids if useful), and walk you through care and washing instructions.
Standard replacement: two pairs every six months.
Compression garments lose their therapeutic pressure over time with daily wear and washing. The clinical standard — and what most insurance plans cover — is two new pairs every six months. We track your schedule and remind you when it's time to reorder.
